NDC Board Member and expert birder Cin-Ty Lee is generously guiding several fall migration field trips to the upper Texas coast for our members and for other interested birders from the community. Cin-Ty is offering these trips as a fundraiser for the Nature Discovery Center. All proceeds from the trip will be used to support our nature education programs. Retired Senior NDC Naturalist, and also an expert birder herself, Mary Ann Beauchemin will be joining Cin-Ty to help lead these outings.
November 6th – Late Fall Migration Along the Texas Coast
Join Cin-Ty Lee and Mary Ann Beauchemin on a trip to the Quintana Neotropical Bird Sanctuary and Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. We will be on the lookout for fall migrating songbirds, shorebirds and waterfowl. We will begin along the immediate coast, checking patches of vegetation at Quintana Neotropical Bird Sanctuary for migrating songbirds. We will then bird along the beach looking for gulls and shorebirds, and if the conditions of the spoils are good, we will be afforded to many shorebirds. After lunch, we will head to Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge, where we will continue looking for shorebirds, waterfowl, sparrows, raptors and more.
