Maura Denman is a Staff Naturalist and Educator and also serves as Media Coordinator at the Nature Discovery Center. Maura is a native Texan who has also lived throughout the Midwest and in Alaska. Maura has explored the Costa Rican rainforests and the behavior and ecology of the animals that inhabit them. She is particularly fond of amphibians, especially poison frogs! In a previous life, Maura taught undergraduate biology courses at small liberal arts colleges. Maura works at the Center because she believes that curiosity and the quest for discovery are what makes life interesting and exciting. And she believes that children of all ages need to have experiences with the natural world that allow them to make discoveries and satisfy their curiosity.
