Cin-Ty grew up in California where he was fortunate enough to be able to wander around in the hills, discovering the beauty of nature at a young age. In addition to conducting research on volcanoes and teaching courses in petrology and geochemistry, Cin-Ty teaches ornithology at Rice and writes books and articles on bird identification, migration, and ecology. His passion in bringing kids and adults closer to nature has lead him to volunteer as a guide for the Center’s seasonal birding field trips, and to serve as a member of our Board.
