Children's Programs

The Nature Discovery Center offers several different programs for children of all ages throughout the year. Sign your children up today!

Birthday Parties
Ages 2-11
Have a Nature Discovery Center Birthday Party! We now offer birthday party options, including a presentation with live animals, that can be done either here or away from the Center.

Story Time
Ages 2-5
Nature Story Time meets every Wednesday at 4 p.m. FREE. Geared for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Nature Detectives
Ages 3.5-5
Preschool children are introduced to basic science concepts through stories, games, crafts, and nature walks. Parents or guardians are encouraged to participate. Classes meet 1 hour each week for 2 or 3 weeks during the school year.

Eco-Explorers
Ages 6-10
This program explores nature and science topics in some depth through experiments, inventions and hands-on investigations. Each month we will explore a different animal group-from mollusks to mammals. Classes meet 2 to 3 times a month.

School Break Out Camps
Ages 5 & up
Break out of the "what to do" routine on teacher workdays and school holidays.

Spring Break Camp
Ages 5 & up
Join the Nature Discovery Center for fun-filled day camps this Spring Break.

SUMMER SCIENCE!
Ages 5-10
Super Science Sleuths can spend their summer learning about things from grasslands and forests to South American Explorers and the sciene of energy. Classes last for one week and are from 9:30 to 3:30.

SUMMER Sneak-A-Peek
Ages 3-5
Sneak-A-Peek is our summer program for children 3-5 years old. Each class meets one day for an hour, caregivers are encouraged to participate!

The Nature Discovery Center is also Pleased to Host Summer Camps Taught by Partner Organizations.

Snakes Alive! Summer Day Camps for 7 year olds and up are taught by Clint the Snakeman during the week of July 4th. For more information, call 713-934-7668. Visit Clint's website to see more of what Clint has to offer.
